You can find Marseille soap in any natural products store or as an alternative to the supermarket (just read the ingredients carefully and check that it is actually Marseille soap without added chemicals). Ingredients for the homemade detergent
- 4 liters of water.
- 300 grams of natural Marseille soap.
- 4 generous spoons of bicarbonate.

Procedure for preparing homemade laundry detergent.
- In a large pot, pour all the water.
- Place the pot on a high flame and let it heat up.
- While the water is heating up, open the Marseille soap package and using a grater or a potato peeler cut the tablet to obtain flakes.
- Wait for the water to boil and add the Marseille soap flakes to the pot.
- Turn off the heat and with the help of a large ladle mix the soap so that it melts well.
- Add the 4 tablespoons of bicarbonate (be careful not to burn yourself) and let the mixture cool.
- Once cooled, your homemade laundry detergent is ready to be poured and used!
Note: The more the detergent cools, the more compact the compound will be. To prevent the laundry detergent from being too solid, let it cool in glass jars or plastic trays. Pour the warm mixture and as soon as it cools, blend everything. In this way the detergent will be less harsh and more pasty.
